NATIONAL NEGOTIATION EXPERT SPEAKS TO WOMEN
Barbara Jackson brings Negotiation Skills for Women to Complementary Teleclass Series

Orem, UT & Des Moines, Iowa -- April 11, 2006 –Today, Makau Corporation, your next-generation training partner, and the Principal Financial Group®, a leader in offering businesses, individuals and institutional clients financial products and services, announce a complementary teleclass training session, The Art of the Deal: Negotiating What you Want, on April 25, 2006 at 12 p.m. central time.

The Art of the Deal: Negotiating What you Want,is based on groundbreaking research from the best-selling book A Woman’s Guide to Successful Negotiating, How to Convince, Collaborate and Create Your Way to Agreement (McGraw Hill), selected by Atlanta Woman Magazine as one of the 50 best books for professional women and featured on ABC’s Good Morning America.  According to Jackson, mastering the art of negotiating will help you break through the glass ceiling.

Barbara Jackson, co-founder and Vice President of Professional Development for Makau Corporation, co-host of Your Career Doctors radio show and the co-founder of YourCareerDoctors.com, is an expert at understanding that most women are more collaborative than men and that the basic female executive toolkit is different than the toolkit of their male counterparts.  Barbara focuses on what’s missing, not on a standard list of skills that all leaders need.

According to Jackson, this class focuses on women’s needs and developing skills through examples geared to the unique learning perspective of women.
“Negotiation is truly an art, especially when it involves the differences in business and natural styles of men and women,” said Jackson.  “To come out on top of the negotiating table, women business owners need to keep their counterpart's perspective, otherwise know as the 'U Perspective,' in mind throughout the deal.”

Barbara is the co-author of the forthcoming book, "UP - Influence and Power in the 'U' Perspective," which teaches readers how to walk into any negotiation with the other person's perspective as a priority in order to get what you want out of the deal.

Makau has teamed up with the Principal Financial Group® to create and distribute this insightful complementary teleclass training course in the area of negotiation.  As a training company with a wide range of training titles and technology, Makau is able to integrate Barbara’s courses into corporate training systems, online learning systems and computer-based learning products. These knowledge products play a strong role in Makau’s offerings in the areas of professional development.

All programs are conducted in meaningful, one-on-one discussions with speakers to provide practical and valuable insight to women.
