NEW TOOLS ENHANCE SMALL BUSINESS MARKETING
Makau Announces Release of Microsoft Publisher 2003 Professional Course

Orem, UT – April 18, 2006 –Today, Makau Corporation, your next-generation training partner, announces the release of its Microsoft Publisher 2003 professional course. Since the advent of desktop publishing, smaller business marketing materials are created in-house.  The marketer and office staffs who have already become masters of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint have had to add Microsoft Publisher to their toolset.  Shifting from the world of copy and presentation writing to desktop publishing is not without its pitfalls.  To help companies navigate this transition, Makau had created a series of e-learning course modules, complete with video-rich expert instruction by Mitzi Katz.

Keeping in touch and communicating with customers is essential for any business.  Once marketers are up to speed with Publisher 2003, they are able to quickly design, create, and publish marketing and communication materials in-house.  This multi-faceted tool can be an office lifesaver when used properly.

According to Branden Black, Chief Technology Officer with Makau Corporation, Makau’s training takes a real-world approach to helping small businesses become proficient with Microsoft Publisher.

“Office staffs in small businesses don’t have a lot of extra time in their day to attend training classes or sit through lengthy on-line presentations,” said Black.  “To make life easier, Makau has built its Publisher training in small bite-size segments and given the learner the control they need to navigate the different sections at will.  They can learn what they need for the task at hand, and then as they have time, they can study more topics until they master the software.”

Makau’s Publisher 2003 course modules cover how to create professional publications for print, the Web, and e-mail.  They also cover more in-depth topics such as how to use Publishers 10 new Master Design Sets to promote a consistent business identity across newsletters, postcards, flyers, Web sites, e-mail announcements and more.

Makau’s four-level Microsoft Publisher 2003 training course is available on disk or on-line for $189.00. It is also available as part of the Makau Learning Appliance, a learning management system and library loaded on a server that resides behind an organization’s firewall.
